たたき上げ。Launch,Tatakiage.

ここ日本では、やっと苦労して成功した人のことを「たたき上げ」と言います。

これは、とても「ほめる」ことば、です。

日本は、天災(テンサイ)とは、暴風、地震、落雷、洪水などの自然で起こる災害のこと、です。

事実、日本は、温泉が多いのは、地震の多いしるしです。

その上、急勾配(キュコウバイ)といって、リアス式海岸が多いので、急坂が多い。

だから、多量の雨によって、洪水なども多く発生します。

河が氾濫(ハンラン)します。この頃の異常気象によって、多くこのようなことが、起こるから、もう、住宅保険は、保険金を払うのが、大変になり、一年更新しかできないようになりました。(2021年現在)。

首都圏の、タワーマンションが、水害によって、大変なことになったし、今後、どのようなことが、起こるのか、想像もつかない。

そんな、日本だから、「苦労」は、尊敬される。

日本のことばに「たたき上げ」とは、人の下に使われて、出世しないとか、才能、能力が、なかなか、認められずに時間が大変かかり、その苦労をたくさんすることです。

それを耐えしのび、やっと、開花(カイカ)する。

カイカとは、ここ日本では、桜の花が、咲くことが、素晴らしい、出来事だと、言われます。

だから、「たたき上げ」つまり、いっぱい苦労した人は、尊敬される。

苦労しても、なかなか、うまくいかない人もいると思う。

人は、「ひねくれる」つまり、素直でいるのは、難しい。

だから、素直なことは、「成長」に欠かせない、ことだと思う。

人は、「自我、ジガ」自分のこと、を形成するのに素直にいることは、とても、難しい。

外国の人は、日本には、「根性、コンジョウ」困難にもくじけないことが、とても、尊敬される、とされるけれども、そんなことしてまで、こんなことしないといけないの？と感じているようなことを言われたことがあります。

日本は、地震がある。

だから、建物は、強い。

外国で、地震が発生して、建物が倒壊した、とか報道される。

この日本では、そんな程度の地震は、何時も起きている。

でも、建物は、倒壊しない。

建物ひとつだって、こんな感じです。

これは、そうならないと、この地、日本は、成り立たない、のです。

だから、見かけ、は、格好良くなくても、良い。

「たたき上げ」は、「尊敬」される。

見かけ、ではない。

そんな、国土だから。多くを語ることはない。

「無言」でも、必ず、人は、「感じる」。

だから、多くの「苦労」は、語ることは、無い。

Here in Japan, we say "tatatakiage" to describe someone who has finally succeeded after a lot of hard work.

A tower apartment building in the metropolitan area has been in a terrible state due to flooding, and it is impossible to imagine what will happen in the future.

Because of this, "hardship" is respected in Japan.

In Japanese, "tatakaiage" means to work under someone, not get promoted, or to have your talents and abilities not be recognized, and to endure a lot of hardships.

You endure and finally bloom (kaika).

Here in Japan, the blooming of cherry blossoms is said to be a wonderful event.

So, "tatakaiage", that is, people who have struggled a lot, are respected.

I think there are some people who struggle but don't succeed.

People are "twisted", that is, it is difficult to be honest.

So I think honesty is essential for "growth".

It is very difficult for people to be honest when forming their "ego" (jiga).

Foreigners have said to me that in Japan, "konjo" (guts) - not giving up even in the face of difficulties - is very respected, but do we really have to go to such lengths?

Japan has earthquakes.

That's why the buildings are strong.

When earthquakes occur in foreign countries, the news reports that buildings have collapsed.

Here in Japan, earthquakes of that magnitude happen all the time.

But the buildings don't collapse.

Even a single building looks like this.

If it wasn't like this, this land, Japan, wouldn't be able to function.

So it's okay if you don't look good.

Those who have "worked their way up" are "respected."

It's not about appearances.

Because that's the kind of country we are. There's not much to say.

Even when "silent," people always "feel."

So there's no talking about the many "hardships."
